Penny Saver Dresses for the Preggers

Ok so Im almost 6 months in my pregnancy there is NO need for me to go shopping for maternity clothes. Im less than half way along and this will be my last pregnancy. But I still need a dress for my baby shower. So I did an experiment I went to Ross and looked for maxi dresses. Long dresses with stretchy fabric. The key was to try them on my regular dress size (pre-pregnancy). I found 2 dresses that I thought were cute and......it WORKED! They fit perfectly and best thing about it, it will fit after the baby is born.

Im not saying this could work on every one. But hey why not give it a try! Have to admit its a lot easier looking for a dress in your old size than in the maternity section.

On a side note Dont know how my camera had 2 different lighting

Double Wing

Yesterday night I wanted to look special for my hubby. He got a new job promotion and we were going out to celebrate at a nice restaurant. I thought I try a new look I saw called the double wing. I had so much fun doing it, it was actually fairly easy to do. VERY time consuming though. It supposed to make your lashes appear longer, I think they just made a statement. Well at my dinner everyone complimented my look. They thought it was sexy and so did my husband ;).

It's All About Bows

The newest trend for the season are BOWS on tees. I think its cute and edgy. The first 2 shirts are from the Lauren Conrad collection both on sale for 22.99. Which you can find now at Kohl's!!!

This shirt is from forever 21 for 19.80. I like the way the bow looks on the top of the tee and how its metallic.

This is also from forever 21. It cost 15.80. I really like the beads on it to add a sparkly effect on them.

Cant wait to get my hands on one of these!! What do you think of bows on tees? Which one do you like?

Princess and the Frog

Sorry I havent done anything in a while my husband has been terribly sick for the past while and now has gotten the WHOLE family sick, including me.Thats when the sickness and health vow comes in right? The healthy helps the sick and now the healthy is the sick. Got it love it. ANYWAYS my husband bought the Princess and the Frog DVD to cheer us up some. A little suck up gift if you must say. And it worked!!! I love love love this movie. It brought back that little girl in me that believed every girl is a princess and deserves to find her prince charming. It wasnt so girly that my little boy couldnt enjoy since it did have the frog part for most of the movie. He was singing and dancing, he enjoyed it a lot. I love that the movie isnt at all what you expect it to be. Its a total twist of the "traditional" princess and the frog story. Another thing I liked about the movie was the names of the characters, Tiana the wairess, Naveen the prince, and Evangeline the star all so fancy.

I was really excited when I heard they were making 2-D disney princess movie again. They brought me so much happiness as a little girl and Im soo happy my children can experience the same things. Little Mermaid still remains my absolute fave movie of all time. There is a sneak peek of the newest movie Rapunsel. Cant wait for that one!

...........the evening star that shines so bright make a wish and hold on tight there is magic in the air tonite, anything could happen

Nexxus

I have the best hair product EVER!!! Im not going to lie. I use to be the girl that didnt wear ANY product in my hair unless it was hairspray when I curled my hair. I seriously didnt see the point, my hair is thin and straight. But my stylist insisted that I wear heat protector since I do use straightner at times to smooth out my hair. So I got Nexxus hair protector spray and let me tell you it is WAY more than a spray. It volumizes my hair, makes it shiny, it smells so good, and keeps my hair from getting dirty faster. Seriously I can go days without washing my hair and it still looks the same from the first day I wash it. I spray my hair damp and then blow dry my hair upside down. Makes my hair look just like those shampoo commercials. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product!

Hubby was craving rice and beans the other day. So today I thought I surprise him and make him arroz con gandoles! One of his fave puerto rican dish, we had it for our wedding and usually cook it for the holidays. So I went the only grocery store that sells ethnic food. Got all the beans and came across MALTA. I havent had a Malta in like years. So Im SUPER STOKED to have one.

P.S. Malta is not alcoholic. Its a malt drink.

Hair, Hair, Hair

Im in desperate need of a haircut. My hair has lost all shape and volume. Thankfully its healthy and no split ends, which is really surprising since I havent cut it in such a looooong time. Just being so indecisive on whether to cut it up to my shoulders or leave it long like I have it but with layers. It took forever to grow my hair thats why Im so hesistant to make it short again. I just got it to the length I want it. But his haircut is just sooo cute

This is the haircut I like if I kept it long

What do you think???

Pregnancy and All its Glory

Yesterday I had another appt. with my OB. Just a regular pregnancy check up where you hear the heartbeat and get your measurments. Everything went well except the nurse practioner was kinda upset that I made a comment that I hate being pregnant and that there is nothing good about it. Dont get me wrong I tried getting pregnant this time. But it was because my husband and I wanted a baby. I didnt enjoy my last pregnancy either but man do I LOVE the newborn part. She said that most women cant list the reasons why they dont like being pregnant but can find reasons what they do enjoy. I couldnt find anything I liked but i could DEFINETLY find what I dont!!! So proved her wrong....but today after thinking about it some there are some things I like. Here are my dislkies and likes.

Dislikes
Morning sickness and Nausea
Taking a pill everyday
Feeling fat
Super sensitive emotions
Tender breasts
Always Uncomfortable
Not fitting your old clothes
Not being able to find cute maternity clothes
Sleep deprived
The side cramps
Fatigue
Her kicking can get annoying, when she moves it HURTS

Accent Color Disaster

It was no problem buying a bed that my husband and I both liked. It wasnt what I initially wanted but none the less content with my buy. We already had covers that are black and white. Now we are in search of an accent color. Something that will make the room POP! Red is just to obvious of an color. Plus that is the color of our living room. So I thought maybe a nice soft yellow, it would be soothing yet a touch of elegance. He wasnt having it. He said it was his least fave color. OK so I thought of a deep turquise, he loved that idea. So we were on a search for throws, pillows, etc. We looked EVERYWHERE!! That damn color was always with brown. I couldnt find curtains or anything. So now we are back to sqaure 1. And I thought of like a dark purple, fushia, or hot pink! Surprisingly enough he thought that would work. Purple is the color of royalty ;)....hehe. So now Im just scared of the colors working for a master bedroom? I dont want to make it feminine. I want it to be romantic yet modern. Guess Im going to put my interior designing skills to the test. Wish me luck!!!

Nursery Shows

Since Evan has been born I have been exploring shows he could watch in the morning while I cook breakfast and stuff like that. I will be discussing which shows I think are appropiate for his age...which is 2.
Starting off with my favorite channel is DISNEY! You just cant go wrong with disney. Most shows are learning, colorful, has music in them and enjoyable even for me. Because lets face it we as adults just get bored easily. And Im not a cartoon fan at all. Well the shows I like and Evan as well is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Imagination Movers, My Friends Tigger and Pooh, and Handy Manny. The shows I dont like are Special Agent Oso and Phineas and Ferb. Special Agent Oso is ok for Evan its just soo hard to watch for me. Phineas and Ferb in my opinion just isnt educational at all, loud nonsense to me.

In Nick Jr. I like Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go, Fresh beat band, and Little Bear. I LOVE LOVE Diego because he teaches spanish and you can learn about animals. Anything teaching my baby spanish is GOOD!! Which a lot of shows are adding these days Ive noticed. Now the show I dispise, cant stand, cant believe its on tv is Yo Gabba Gabba. Its like Sesame Streets on Drugs. They dont teach you anything really and have some strange music in the show. Unfortunatly Evan loves it, he is a dancing fool. I just regulate the times he can watch it.

Then there are the classics in PBS Barney and Sesame Street. Which you just cant go wrong with, but I find that I like it more for him than he likes it.

What's in a name?

For a while now I have been calling my baby girl by a name. I really like it and so does Brandon. Its cute and has meaning to it. But I just want to explore ALL my options before making the name permanent. All I know is I really want her name to end with an "a" like mine. It has to be unique but not TOTALLY out there. Something my spanish side of the family can pronounce. I guess Im just going to go to do what most mothers say. When you look at her you will now exactly what to name them.

Loreal Purple Eyeliner

I have recently purchased purple eyeliner from Loreal. I love cream eyeliner, I think its just a precise way to apply and easier to make a wing, plus the color shows a lot more than an eye pencil. Anyways....The product was ok. Compared to my MAC eyeliner it wasnt as creamy and the color didnt pop purple as well as I liked. But for a dark purple it works. I just would rub it on my arm before applying so it goes on smoother.

MakeUp Tips

I have taken quite an interest on makeup lately, well maybe more than that, quite a bit of an obsession of mine. I have a list of things I want and went on a shopping spree a couple of weeks ago. I have always loved makeup but I never really did anything different. It was the same old colors and the same method. Now I have begun to just have fun with it, kinda took it as an art form. Here are a few tips I like to share.

1)Make-up brushes are an ESSENTIAL!!! They really improve a look, making it flawless looking.

2)You have to clean your foundation, concealer, and eyeliner brush after every use.

3)The best way I learned to clean my brushes is by extra virgin olive oil and dishwasher soap. Put it on a plate and with your brush mix it together and swap the brush back and forth with your hand. Then rinse and hang your brushes upside down!

4)If you want to wear red lipstick you MUST wear lip liner and put concealer around it

5)Concealer is just like foundation wear the best to match your skin tone not lighter than

6)Start a skin care treatment one for daytime and night time, prevent wrinkles and damage to your skin NOW

7)Always put moisturizer before applying foundation

8)If you have dry skin no need to wear powder

9)NEVER EVER sleep with makeup on, especially eye makeup and foundation

10)Just have fun with it!!!

Fears Of Pink

As most of you know Im pregnant with my second child and just last month I discovered it was a girl. Everyone who knows me knows that Ive wanted to have a daughter my whole life. I just felt like I could never relate to a boy. But know that I have one he is absolutly amazing and now I know why God sent me one of his boy angels to me. I could have 10 boys now. Finding out I had a girl while I was excited I was secretly terrified. I was excited because know I can buy all those things that I love tinkerbell, hello kitty ANYTHING pink. But now none of these things concern me anymore all I can think about is my relationship with her. Will we be interested in the same things? Will she like pink as much as I do? Can I handle a teenage girl? Just so weird to have my dream come true and now it just haunts me. I am really close to my mom. She is my best friend I can tell her everything. I pray that my daughter and I can have the same kind of relationship. But just like god gave me a boy for a reason, he sent me a girl angel for one as well.
